Azealia is a main stream artist with a hungry project. "Broke with expensive taste took me on a ride through Afro-Beat with "Idle Delilah". I love hearing horns on a Hip hop album in a African format. What blew me away was her Spanish speaking bridge in the middle of "Give me a Chance". Couple that with rap that is as confident as Lauryn Hill and grooves like Missy Elliot track and you are listening to someone who is hungry and doesn't care about the status quo.
I really enjoyed the mixes and production on her album. They treated her voice beautifully. Not too much compression or effects on her voice. Dead center is where her voice sits. You get all these elements that you would never get from a producer who is from the states. These Elements are app to someone who knows African
music and HIP HOP. I love tasting the new sounds. This is one artist who likes to have fun, let you know how she really feels and doesn't over use the "N" word. When she comes to L.A. I hope the show is as powerful and impacting as the album. All the best to Azealia Banks.
